Hi, I'm Nathaniel, but you can call me Nate. For over 16 years, I was deeply embedded in the world of T-Mobile, starting as a retail salesperson and eventually leading a team of program managers in Seattle, where we shaped the company's digital future. My initial academic journey began at California State University, Long Beach, where I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. But life had other plans, and I found my true calling at T-Mobile.

This past summer, my journey with T-Mobile came to an end, marking the close of a significant chapter in my life. Now, I'm channeling my energy into upskilling and diving deep into the realm of emerging technologies. I'm passionate about understanding the nuances and potential of these technologies, especially in how they intersect with societal structures and power dynamics.

Outside of my corporate life, I wear a few other hats. I'm a commissioned landscape photographer, a lover of arts and music, and I take pride in mentoring frontline employees, guiding them through their career aspirations. These diverse experiences have enriched my life, allowing me to connect with a myriad of incredible individuals from all walks of life.

Feeling the pull to return to academia, I joined the University of Washington's Integrated Social Sciences program. This decision was driven by my desire to delve deeper into the complex relationship between information, technology, and society, and the underlying power dynamics that shape our world. Through my studies, I've explored topics like colonialism's lasting impacts and the intricate ties between media, state, and power. I've been fortunate to learn from the works of thinkers like Marx, Weber, Tilly, and Foucault, applying their theories to real-world scenarios from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

As I navigate this new phase of my career, I'm particularly drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of social sciences and technology. I believe there's immense potential in merging these fields, and I'm eager to contribute my unique blend of professional experience and academic insights. My goal is to leverage technology in ways that address societal inequalities and foster a more just and informed world.
